SCOTLAND'S SCENIC GRANDEUR

The following artworks are my interpretation of some beautiful, haunting and inspiring places in Scotland.

A trio of abandoned and forlorn fishing boats at Salen on the isle of Mull in the Inner Hebrides. Once fine sea going vessels, now abandoned and subject to the vagaries of the west coast weather and slowly decaying.

This wonderfully named picturesque railway station is just outside the city of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. Situated beside the Caledonian Canal, as seen in the foreground of this painting, the station is a quirky little building with its old wood panelled exterior, corrugated roof and timber staircase. In the background are yellow painted buildings which complete this attractive scene.

The Scottish Highlands in winter and a suitably frozen looking Coo behind a stone dyke, but it’s probably just posing as their long shaggy coat keeps the cold out.

Flying Clowns! These delightful wee birds are unconscious comedians. They spend most of the time at sea and are superb divers and are perfectly suited for long periods on the wing. When they return to the nest they hit the ground running just like a drunk man tottering forward and trying not to fall flat on his face
